Our toddler room is for our 2-year-olds and where we offer 24U places.

The children have access to a varied programme of activities for them to develop at their own pace.

The resources are freely accessible to enable the children to make choices about what they want to play with, building on their confidence and encouraging them to be autonomous.

This is a very important time for your child to develop self-help skills such as toilet training and recognising their own belongings.

Positive interactions are paramount to support speech and language skills, focusing on developing a two-way communication as language develops rapidly at this stage of the children learning and we observe them putting sentences together.

Active learning and a curiosity to try new experiences is what we want to encourage with praise and recognition to build on self-esteem. Tapestry is how we record their progress, as well as verbal communication with parents. Tracking their progress is part of our effective practice.

We carry out a two-year check across the prime of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
